Diversity Experiences
- My home town school in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota has encouraged me to embrace diversity in the school setting.
- My experiences with students from diverse racial/ethnic, socioeconomic status, religious, and cultural backgrounds have shaped how I will celebrate diversity in my classroom. When teaching about diversity I will invite parents and families into share and read books and teach lessons that include multiple perspectives. These strategies will help my classroom become a safe, enjoyable, and productive setting for students from all backgrounds.
- My experiences in diverse classrooms have given me the opportunity to differentiate my lessons to meet the needs of all students. Additionally, I will hold high expectations for all students in order to encourage them to reach their full potential.
